24 WATERLOO Th REGIONAL AIRPORT YKF MASTER PLAN The Project Team directing the Waterloo Regional Airport Master Plan (AMP) has prepared its final recâ€" ommendations for this plan. The recommendations that are to be considered for the AMP are summarized as folâ€" lows: 1. Installation of a noise monitoring and management system in the year 2000. 2. Mitigation of airport noise through changes to the noise abatement procedures as recommended by the Public Advisory Committee and the Airport Noise Management Committee. 3. Installation of an Instrument Landing System (ILS) on runway 07 and lengthening runway 07â€"25 to 7,000 feet to mitigate noise over residential areas in Kitchener. 4. Upgrading of the existing passenger terminal faciliâ€" ties to accommodate regular passenger service. 5. Providing airside leased property for aviation related operations. 6. Undertaking the necessary studies to determine future infrastructure servicing needs (ic. water, sewer, power, storm drainage) 7. Maintaining the existing airport management and administrative structure. 8. Updating the Airport Master Plan every five years. 9. Revision to the appropriate clauses of the Regional Official Policies Plan, as its next five year review, to be consistent with the 2000 AMP, and any future changes to the 2000 AMP which would result in the development of new runways, significant expansion of existing runways. or increases in the PLR or code rating of the airport, will only be implemented folâ€" lowing recognition of such change through amendâ€" ment to the Regional Official Policies Plan. These recommendations will be considered by the Regional Airport Advisory Committee, Regional Engineering Committee and Regional Council at the folâ€" lowing upcoming meetings: Airport Advisory Committee â€" Tues.
