2 It is interesting that some people & are planning on going to court to & nullify the law passed in Waterloo 8 Region to disallow smoking in & bars, restaurants, bingo halls and w public places. Here are the feelings ; of one nonâ€"smoker to this action Several years ago 1 quit smoking. How long ago I cannot say for sure because it took me more than five years to give up the dangerous habit and 1 can tell you that 1 started trying to throw the weeds away almost 20 years ago. Finally I found a secret that would work for me. 1 refused to take the first cigaâ€" rette after quitting. If 1 did not take the first one, 1 did not have to worry about taking the second or third. Your worst problem is that you will have problems enforcing this law. I could go on about the type of people who would give you a hard time about this enforcement but 1 will not as you already know the type much better than I do or want to Now the bingo halls are uniting to defeat the ban on smoking in public places ostensibly because they expect that they are going to lose too much money in sales of whatever their product is. My first reaction to that is, have you noticed how many Tim Horton‘s have been forced to close since it went 100 per cent smoke free? 1 don‘t think you have a worry in the w. rld. mm mas wam Om Oan Om . AUTO Letters policy GLASS CLAIM any The other problem is going to cost you money. Supposing you get your way and you get this law repealed. So now people can smoke whatever they wish, and as a result of me inhaling their second hand smoke I get lung cancer. The way 1 see it, your attempt to go to court to have this law nulliâ€" fied is an attempt by you to force me to inhale smoke with all the risks involved. You may say for me to stay away from your establishâ€" ments. Well, I do. The problem is that if you are successful in your actions, do you think it will be very long before the next organization goes to court to get a law overturned and in the process accidentally hurts you? Now my medical bills go sky high. Do I pay for these bills? No! 1 do not have that kind of money. Who pays? Why the taxpayer of course. That means you. know is that 1 have not frequented a bar or a bingo hall since I was finally successful in stopping smoking because secondâ€"hand smoke made it difficult for me to maintain my abstinence. At that time the dangers of secondâ€"hand smoke were not common knowlâ€" edge Bars and bingo halls 1 can stay away from but some public places 1 must go to, and there I am forced to inhale secondâ€"hand smoake. ï¬:_g:._‘.j: 15 3 ymz i2 Cz CE wUi _3) CALL s FOR 2 yYOouRr * aUOTE UR 2 Your 2 OUOTE, © EXPIRES IN BUSINESS TO SERVE YOU!...SINCE 1987 omm JAN. 3100 _ 1138 King East @ Ottawa Kitchener 576â€"18â€"55 (MOST WINDSHIELDS) Lloyd Trevail, Cambridge ‘ pLUS 'P YOLU RECEIVE You said it 10 PACK 1MEDIUM Advantage "All the hype just doesn‘t make any sense Any problems were taken care of months ago.
