The marathon is to draw attention to the wilering, the preven- tion of and the hope for a cure for AIDS. The M-hour fundraising event will see runners of all abilities complete laps of the community track in return for pledges to the AIDS committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Area. Participants can include members of every age gmupand " letic ability from senior citizens who walk laps, school track teams that will run the 24 hours in relay teams and ultramarathoners who will attempt to complete the greatest number of kilometers by running non-stop for 14 hours. Several of Canada’s top ultramnners, including past and present members of the Canadian IOU K Run Team, will be taking part. Ryne Melcher, a member of the National 100K team and one of the key organizers of the event, commented that, "We're amazed at the overwhelming support we've received to date. We're hoping to make this event really count, not only here in Waterloo, but around the world.
