40 years and still going strong For Shirley Moser, it‘s been 32 years since she first began working at Forwell‘s Super Variety at the corner of King and University streets in Waterloo as a teenager. FA. :# t Remember that partâ€"time job you had back in high school? Moser has since progressed from a partâ€"time employee to store manager and is the longestâ€"serving employee of the store, which is poised to celebrate its 40th anniversary on Sept. 18. She has no regrets about her career choice at all. "I really thoroughly enjoy the job," said Moser. "We meet a lot of really nice people. There‘s a really nice mix." She said some people visit the store and reminisce about being regular customers 25 years ago. They all say to Moser the same thing â€" "You‘re still here?" _ The store‘s location, across from Wilfrid Laurier Univerâ€" sity, lends itsell to many stuâ€" dent customers. Moser said they enjoy having the students come in, especially during frosh week. "They come in and ask for these neat things, like spray paint or hair colour," said Moser. She said they have everyâ€" AvTO GLASS CLAIM any thing students need including shower curtains and, new this year, inflatable furniture. _ Moser said store owner Joe Forwell has always been a great believer in serving students. When he first started at the store, Forwell‘s was one of the only stores around that cashed cheques for students. But the store serves more than just students.
