THE CITY OF |: Dated at Waterloo this 19th day of May, In the past, the City of Waterloo has identified problems with both old and new water valves which require repair. If the valve is located in your driveway and a repair is necessary, it will likely require excavating an area around the valve. An unsightly patch could result in your brand new driveway if you do not call for an inspection. If an excavation in a paved driveway cannot be avoided, we will patch the area to the highest standard; however, we will not replace the entire driveway. Please call us three weeks prior to paving your driveway so that we may inspect any valve which may be present. Do not assume your driveway contractor will arrange this. Many times ‘I they don‘t. ‘Thank you. Dated at Waterloo this 19th day of May, 1999 On September 1, 1998, the Ontario Government enacted legislation creating Community Safety zones. Bill 26 allows municipalities to designate portions of roadways where, in council‘s view, public safety is of special concern. Most Highway Traffic Act moving violations that are issued by the Waterloo Regional Police Service within a Community Safety Zone, will have the minimum fine increased. Councils of the City of Waterloo and Region of Waterloo have approved the designation of the following streets as Community Safety Zones: * Bearinger Road from Glen Forrest Boulevard to Albert Street * Albert Street from Bridgeport Road to University Avenue * Westmount Road from Erb Street to Chopin Drive (joint zone with the City of Kitchener) These areas will have signs posted to inform motorist that they are entering/exiting the Community Safety Zones. The Community Safety Zones will be implemented on June 1, 1999, for a trial period of one year. Should you require further information, please call 747â€"8629.
