During the next two weeks of holiâ€" days, many people will be thinking of two things, southern Christmas vacaâ€" tions and New Year celebrations. Therefore, it‘s no wonder that area limousine companies find themselves working at peak capacity during the Christmas holidays driving people to and from airports and from festive halls. And, people have the choice of travelâ€" ing in style, in a private limousine, comâ€" plete with uniformed driver, or economically in a luxury custom van with other travelers. Whatever the method of travel, there‘s a service to suit any need. m‘yn“e;df e e Pavl Choghri, owner of VIP Limousine, is "We‘re basically an airport business ready for a busy Christmas and New Years and, for us, this will be one of the busiest _ EY¢â€" times of the year," said VIP Limo owner Paul Choghri of Waterloo. _ in the region, finds tha Choghri, who owns two blue and black Cadillac limousines, with a third one on the way within the next week, drove a limouâ€" sine at Toronto‘s Lester B. Pearson Airport from 1980 t0â€"1993. He knew there are a large number of limousine companies operating out of the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo area, but after doing a market research, felt that there was more than enough Kâ€"W business for his company, which operates out of Waterloos Comfort â€"Inn on Weber Street. io o cuant o t us dn Wtc an t e Limousine services prepare for busy Christmas season "It‘s a very competitive business, but there‘s lots of it out there BUsSINESS ~ Peter Cudhea Chronicle Staff ow d ues t ju us o mt e w o i in Wnn w +« 420 CCC "+*"° _ The company, which owns the only 10â€"passenger white Cadillac limousine in the region, finds that during the nonâ€"holiday time, most of its business comes from the corporate sector, but there are those odd occasions when a group will use the service to travel to event such as football games in Buffalo or Detroit. Meredith Schnart, who along with her husband, Gary, owns Emerald Limousine, one of the largest limousine companies in the area with 12 vehicles, notices a blip in business during the holiâ€" days, but says it‘s nothing like the wedding and prom months of May and June. "Up until now, our business has been mainly corporate, but now with the holâ€" idays just around the corner we‘re now looking at people going to the airport leaving for their holidays, and of course, we‘ll be there to pick them up as well." However, for those people who are ready to party but don‘t want to drive, there are limousine companies such as Waterloo familyâ€"owned business Limo Scene, which are prepared to safely drive party revelers around town "People are a lot more conscious today about drinking and driving, so we find that during New Year‘s Eve we‘ll pick up a group of people, drive them to where they want to go, and drop them off at home at the end of the night," said Vera Heinbein, coâ€"owner of Limo Scene.
