by Becky Bauman The longâ€"awaited Guys and Dolls is opening tonight at Bluevale Collegiate! The night will a culmination of the months of hard work that have been dedicated to making this show a sucâ€" cess. Cast and crew promise an amusing comedy that is sure to entertain. The show runs from this evening until Saturday, beginning each night at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $7 for children and stuâ€" dents with a fee card and $10 for adults in advance. At the door, costs go up to $10 and $12 respectively. But here‘s a word of advice: don‘t leave buying your tickets until the last minute â€" the seats are going fast and it looks as though there is going to be a sellâ€"out crowd! This musiâ€" cal has created much excitement within the school and in the community. After two successâ€" ful matinee performances for area school chilâ€" dren, the cast and crew is set to make this show the best in Bluevale‘s history. From the colorful and exciting sets to the superb musical skills of the cast, every aspect of this show works against Southwood at Breithaupt. Our volleyball teams are at home going head to head with Jacob Hespeler. Come out to the Viking Dome after school to cheer them on. For all the other spirâ€" ited Vikings next Tuesday, our boys basketball teams play at WCI against Preston. Go the the game and show your support. Attention grads. If the generosity KCI1 Raiders has already shown to the community is any indication of how many items of food we‘ll be getting, a lot of hungry people will be getting fed this winter! Continue giving to our weekly torch fund which supports a difâ€" ferent charity every week. Course selections for all of next year‘s returnâ€" ing students is taking place over the next two weeks. Talk with parents, teachers, counsellors and peers for any needed help. As December arrives,the countdown to the winter holidays begins. For those of you who are keeping count, it‘s only three and a half weeks until we get a nice, long break. Until then though, there are many activities in between to keep you busy. This Friday will be our fabulous Lumberjack Spirit Day. Wear your construction boots, lumâ€" ber jackets and whatever else you can find. Sorry though, no chainsaws allowed! In sports news, the senior boys basketball team deserves congratulations for a good showâ€" ing recently at the Heinbuch tournament, with two wins and two losses. Way to go Knights! Don‘t forget to support our athletic Knights who have just begun the winter season. There will be lots of action in the next few weeks so be sure to watch for news on how Bluevale‘s swimmers and curlers are doing. together to make this a production to remember. The issue came out to help promote and to publicize the production of Guys and Dolls. A complete issue will be coming out in December before the holidays. If you are interested in writing for the paper or helping out in any way, just watch for news about the next meeting.
