The 1995 Oktoberfest Major Atom Invitational Hockey Tourâ€" nament, featuring 70 teams and close to 1,400 participants, will feature games at Kitchener‘s Kinsmen/Kiwanis twin rinks; Kitchâ€" ener Memorial Auditorium and Don McLaren Area as well as Waterloos Mutual Group Arena, Waterloo (Bubble) Arena and the twin pads of the Albert McCormick Arena. According to tournament committee member, Angela Beckner, the event, which is now in its 22nd year, has grown from last year‘s 64 teams to 70 this time around, requiring more . .cnas. "The tournament used to be run during the week of Oktoberâ€" fest, but nobody could book a hotel room in the Kâ€"W area," said Beckner. "So, organizers switched the tournament to the weekend following Oktoberfest." Beckner, who‘s part of the scheduling committee, has been involved with the tournament for the past 15 years. _ __ _ Waterloo teams featured in the threeâ€"day event include the triple A Waterloo Cubs and the single A Waterloo Wolves. â€" Kitchener will carry one triple A team, Kitchener Krauts, and two single A teams, Kitchener Komets and Kiowas. _ Adult admission to the tournament is $10 for a weekend pass or $5 for a day pass.
