This past Friday the Viking runner, once again, broke away from the pack to win her secâ€" ond +km run in as many weeks in capturing the junior division of a race held at Waterloos Bechtel Park. The previous week she carved a path in winning the first crossâ€"country meet of the high school season in winning an invitationâ€" al run at LaurelCreek Conservation Area. "I don‘t compare myself to them (Butler and Schwann). To me, they‘re sort of my idols. 1 just try to be the best 1 can be," said McClure, a Grade 12 student. Both runners went on to receive running scholarships, while Butler was Canada‘s top junior runner and ranked within the top 50 female runners in the world.
