UW students win Toronto art show awards _ Four University of Waterloo fine arts students and alumni won top prizes recently at the 34th annual Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition held at Nathan Phillips MMr uns Eva McCauley, a fine arts graduate students, took first place in the portrait category, while Darlene Cole, who has just completed her master of fine arts degree, was honored for best student art overall. By signing up for Waterloo Regional Arts Council‘s summer art classes ($30 fee), high school students will design and paint 20 large trash receptacles, which will be placed throughout downtown Kitchener. Working in paoirs, participating students will design barrels using ecological and local historical themes. Awards will be presented to the three teams with the best designs. The program gets underway July 31. After the planâ€" ning and design stage, students will paint the trash barâ€" rels in Market Square, where members of the public can watch them work.
