As for this week‘s plate of events, well let me just say there‘s no lack of exciteâ€" ment. In sports, the junior tennis team is playing in the WCSSAA tournament and our boys and girls soccer teams are battling it out at CWOSSA. If you‘re not a big fan of the great outdoors, you can catch a musical concert here at school tomorrow evening. And don‘t forget that this Friday is Sneaker Day so put on your triedâ€"andâ€"true running shoes and leave your stylish loafers behind. Also, good luck to your students who will be competing in this Friday‘s Spanish contest as welluoutstarswhol’msme,wi]]bemnningand jumping their hearts out at the track regionals this week and on the weekend. KCI DEMOCRATS Authorized by the CFO for the Campaign to Elect Hugh Miller WCI Locker Talk The people of Waterloo North are helping to forge the "engine of the new economy" and we must be heard more forcefully at Queen‘s Park. Elect High Miller to be our voice for Waterioo North. This community has seen High Miller at work listening to people and acting on what he hears. He is not afraid to take a stand. He has brought people together to create and develop imaginative, workable solutions: in the university, in minor sports, in labour organizations, in the justice community. Six KCI students qualified to compete at the provincial chamâ€" pionships and they were Sang Panyadeth, Jeff Boots, Dage Boulette and Andrew Beckford who all qualified in the 4x100 metre relay, Nick Oliverio who qualified in the shot put and Krista Driedger who qualified in the 80 metre hurdles. Jeff also qualified in the 100 metre race and Andrew Beckford was CWOSSA‘s 100 metre and 200 metre champion. The list of events in which Dave Boulette qualified is even longer; he will go on to compete in the 100 metre race and is CWOSSA champion in both long jump and high jump. KCI‘s superb track and field team will get another chance to show their ability in Ontarioâ€"wide competiâ€" tion on Thursday and Friday. KCI‘s chess team finished their season last week by winning the Waterloo County Chess League champiâ€" onship for the second year in a row. Mike Bodell, Rob Oliver, Paul Elliott and Greg Cafengiu swept Waterâ€" loo Oxford to win the competition. This result should come as no surprise because KCI‘s chess team recently finished fourth in the Ontario high school chess championship with Kurt Moeller, Chris Sculâ€" lion, Mike Certain and Brendan Blom also participatâ€" ing. This has been another successful season for the team which seems to do better with each year of comâ€" petition. KCI‘s junior tennis team will compete at their WCSSAA competition tomorrow and KCI‘s athâ€" letic banquet will recognize the athletes who have led Raider sports teams, next Monday at the University of Waterloo‘s Federation Hall starting at 6:15 p.m. the holidays that lie ahead.
