We pointed out that if GM can offer ABS as standard on a Cavaâ€" lier, what is Honda doing holding out on ABS for the Del Sol? Well, I am pleased to announce that Honda has come to its senses and installed ABS. Mind you, only those that go for the VTEC get ABS as standard equipment. It isn‘t even an option on the Si version. I can only assume that this is Honda‘s way of limiting production variables, thereby reducâ€" ing their overall production costs. It also allows dealers to stock Del Sol‘s without having to worry that the particular set up they have in the showroom doesn‘t have the options a customer wants (one theory is that the Del Sol is a very visual, emotional purchase and a dealer will want to comâ€" plete a sale before the customer has a chance at a second thought). So she took the plunge and bought a bright red version and hasn‘t looked back since. Both she and my fatherâ€"inâ€"law love the car and take every chance they get to drive it.
