It was when his wife told him about the Ontario Amputee Sports Assoâ€" ciation, his life took on new meaning. He doesn‘t talk much about the acciâ€" dent, just that it happened and there‘s nothing that can be done to bring his arm back. Instead, with years of rehabilâ€" tation and therapy at Hamilton‘s Cheâ€" doke McMaster Hospital, Clements and his wife, Diana, got their lives back in order and mapped their future. â€" Great Strides Clements is probably a moreâ€"abled bodied person than most in this world, despite not having his right arm. Life goes on for the 28â€"yearâ€"old University of Waterloo Enviromental and Resourse Studies graduate who lost his limb after a motorcycle accident seven years ago. But when asked, how does he swim in a straight line using only one arm, Clements hasn‘t really thought too much of the problem. Prior to taking the Enviromental and Resourse Studies course, Clements was registered in the bioâ€"chemistry program, but felt he needed both arms to successâ€" fully be a biochemist _These guys, even though they still refuse to allow the doctors to remove the limb, are not visibly disabled. But they have to get them â€" limbs â€" removed and get on with their lives." They won‘t‘ His former doctors, knowing how he got his life back in order, have approach ed him to talk to other people who are facing what he went through several years ago. Despite the setback, Clements refuses to grieve over the situation. He had his grieving period in life, and life, as he knows it, is very precious. One of the reasons he wasn‘t selected was because of his lack of competition last year, something the OASA required of him.
