A ‘"Three Pitch Tournament" has been organized for Sept..19 to raise money for the City of Waterloo Fee Assistance program. (The fee assisâ€" tance program benefits residents of Waterloo who wish to participate in any of the city‘s recreation and culture programs but are unable to pay program fees.) The three pitch tournament will see teams representing various departments of city staff competing to raise funds. Of the money raised, 50 per cent will be donated to the fee assistance program, and the other 50 per cent will be used as a startâ€"up fund for future corporate volunteer activiâ€" ties. An example is the program‘s first scheduled in which approximately 230,000 older, retired Canadians particiâ€" pate. More than 30,000 projects have been funded since New Horizons was established 20 years ago.
