"BecauU of the way our plan was written to the ministry, we were able to get the addition for St. David's high school, which of course affects Waterloo directly. We're quite proud of that, and it's coming along really well. We will be able to have all our students in the building by next September." Ervin said the board has ur- gently pursued its relationship with business and industry. It has also submitted a "very intention. al" program to the Ministry of Education concerning the board’s building planning. "There have been so many things happening in the past year since I've been chair of the board, that it's really been quite incred- ible," Ervin said. "First of all, the programming in our board has really broadened quite a bit, from the implementation, of junior kim dergarten all the way to teaching in nursing homes. We've taken the approach that learning is a life-long pro9sss" in 1985 and was appointed chair of the board last year. Ervin said, under her leadership the board has moved forward in several areas, notably catholicity in the curriculum and integration of technology from junior kindergar- ten to senior secondary school.
