The slate, "Accountable Action," was formed early this year when a group of parents found they shared a common concern for moral teaching, said group spokesperson and Kitchener candidate Gerry Campbell. ‘‘From this group, an expansion gradualâ€" ly began with more parents who are concerned about things like why there were no parent/teacher associations in place in different schools â€" things through which they could keep a closer eye about the content and context of the teaching PRECISION INâ€"LINE SKATES BLILAI The Water Network is a coâ€"operâ€" ative institute made up of reâ€" searchers from UW, University of Western Ontario, University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier Uniâ€" versity, The next step for the study team is developing groundwater protection policies that will help the region and the province to better manage groundwater qualâ€" ity. "For the largest groundwater using community in Canada, there really isn‘t any detailed and accurate information on our groundwater or any policies to help prevent future problems," says Sanderson. Sanderson says the study will look at not only present sources of contamination but also past land uses to determine if other contaâ€" minants from sources long since gone may have reached the groundwater, "There‘s really nothing in writâ€" ing that tells us what areas are endangered by industry and other pollutants," _ says _ Sanderson, "and that‘s important if we‘re going to avoid situations like Elmira in the future." After the initial inventory is done, Sanderson says the six member team will then locate "danger spots," areas of groundâ€" water reserves that are most susceptible to contamination. "First of all, we‘re not even sure what groundwater reserves there are so that‘s the first step, taking an inventory of where and what there is." Dr. Marie Sanderson, director of the Water Network, says the study team will begin with an inventory of groundwater resourâ€" ces in the region. Water Network $185,000 for the study that is expected to take about 18 months. Accountable Action candidates are seekâ€" ing all three Waterloo positions on the board.
