â€" (Short A note of torment had caused him to stumble to the stable, where he had found his twin. He couldn‘t move, paralyzed by the sight. There lay her twisted form just beyond the stable. Julius had run and fallen on his knees beside ... her colour. "Oh, Julianne. My poor sister Julianne! My twin! Did you have to die?" He thought in wretched agony. Bit by bit he remembered her . . . The slender form, lustrous dark hair, full red lips and soulful eyes. Julianne radiated youth and vitality. That memory itself was enough to condemn him. A handsome, foreignâ€"looking young man, say about in his late twenties, walked briskly along the platform, elbowing his way through the crowd. The force of the wind pushed against him but he marched forward resolutely. Julius had waited ten years, ten long bitter years to deliver what he must. His face hardened as the tiny muscle in his jaw thrust out and in. He knew exactly what he had to do, had known for a long time! A red scarf flew by, its end wrapped around a stranger‘s neck. Pain stabbed his heart, red REMEMBER YESTERDAY The wind howled, rustling the remainder of the dead leaves against the cell window, bringing back very much alive memories from that cold ... cold autumn day. What angered him most was that Tony had gotten away scotâ€"free. The police full of pity and underâ€" standing had told him there was Yes, that was what happened! Julius thought decisively. There had always been that Tony Casâ€" sius. Waiting for her after school, carrying her books, taking her out. He had become suspicious. Those suspicions became certainâ€" ties. Tony! Hate erupted and flooded through Julius making him grit his teeth. His jaw ached. Later it had been discovered that she had been pregnant. Pregnant! Bits and pieces of the puzzle began to fall in place. Was she killed because she was preâ€" gnant? "Julianne!" he screamed wildâ€" ly. His hand slid down her back, then he felt something hard, a knife! She had been murdered! Getting up, he made the necesâ€" sary phone calls. Everything grew fuzzy and unâ€" clear, like a disembodied dream. He only knew he had lost her, the only person in the world who cared what happened to him. Lips parted to speak, "Toâ€"," she whispered urgently with an efâ€" fort. A sudden jerk and her face relaxed, all signs of suffering had disappeared. her. "Julianne!" he‘d cried turnâ€" ing her head. He remembered her sullen eyes, the soft oval face, wl"lite and convulsing with pain. Thrusting the gun back in, Julius moved swiftly in the darkâ€" ness to the balcony. With one hand on the ledge he jumped, landing safely. The wind seemed to aid and abet him as he walked, satisfied at his accomplishment. His steps were light. A figure leaped at him. Tony jolted in shock. The next afternoon he returned to the site. Julius could not begin to express the ecstasy he had felt. It was like a heavy load lifted off The man with the tinted sunâ€" glasses pulled a gun out of his pocket. "Remember me?" he murâ€" mured softly. He pulled the trigâ€" ger ... He had searched in vain for his whereabouts, having lost Tony in the first three years. Finally, when Julius had tracked him down the rest had been a matter of routine. Tony thought he had heard a sound. Maybe it was his imagina: tion after all when he came out there was nothing. He cast another cautious glance around. _ He touched the Mauser pistol in his coat pocket for good luck. It felt cool in his hand. It was a mild night with very few winds. But no way was he going to let him get away without punishment. Julius was going to make him PAY, and pay plentifully Tony would.
