At one time or another, each of us has had to work with poorly written information. The objective of the Centre for Professional Writing is to provide a practical service to help produce readerâ€"friendly information. Improving workplace efficiency and safety reâ€" quires the integration of scientific information about human structure, function and behavior with information about the work environment. Optimizâ€" ing the complex interactions between the worker, machine and the work setting reduces accidents, errors and absenteeism, while promoting health, comfort and productivity. The course will give participants a basic underâ€" standing of the biomechanical, physiological and psychological principles that affect workplace perâ€" formance. Tackling contemporary workplace issues using ergonomic principles will be the focus of the course and there will be group discussions and workshops to investigate workplace challenges.
