l ptovm Waterloo boasts many buildings of historical significance. labatt's Kuntz House is one. The story of this particular building began in 1866 when David Kuntz immigrated to Canada. He was a brewer as well as a barrel and brick maker. It was David Kuntz who made the bricks for the first brewery - and they still remain in good condition in the surviving sections of the original building. Labatt's purchased the Carling Brewery, originally the Kuntz, in 1977.
