Are they pests, who won‘t leave your property? Well Attitudes, just might change your skateâ€"board attitude. The city has its skate boarding recreation facility up and rolling at Albert McCormick arena, and skate boarders are flying off ramps, twisting and gyrating over obstacles, sailing and croaching on the 1/2 pipe, and yes, wiping out. "It‘s a challenge. Each time you learn something new," he said of skate boarding. Attitudes, as the park is called, opened quietly last Wednesday in order to give workâ€" ers a chance to get organized. Waterloo‘s manager of programs Tom Litwiller said it‘s now ready to go, and he expects can accommoâ€" date up to 100 boarders a day. Split into two areas, the rink‘s ice surface is equipped with ramps, jumps, and room for freestyle. The other side contains a "1/2 pipe"; an immense semiâ€"circular structure with standâ€" ing room on each side for boarders to launch from. The city allocated $15,000 for the project.
