Janâ€" zen and assisted by the Kitchenerâ€"Waâ€" terloo Symphony, will perform Menâ€" chordistâ€"theoretician Peter Williams (Duke University) and writerâ€"lecturer Owen Jander (Wellesley College). Felix Mendelssohn, born in 1809, was the idol of a vast public and a prolific writer for the voice, his oratorâ€" i0 Elijah representing the peek of his achievement in this area. It was Mendelssohn‘s last major composition before his death at age thirtyâ€"eight. Entitled "C.P.E. Bach: His Music and His Influence," the conference will commemorate the 200th anniverâ€" sary of his death and the opening of the recital hall in the John Aird Centre. This major international conference involves participants from eight states and five provinces in the delivâ€" ery of scholarly papers, performances, master classes and panel discussions. Guest speakers include Bach scholâ€" ar Eugene Helm (Maryland), harpsiâ€" Conference performances of C. P.
