Chronicle Staff Prior to the start of the 1988 football season, Bluevale Knights coach Bob Serviss said his team would have to win its first three games to reach the Waterioo County playoffs. To his relief, the Knights chalked up win No. 3 Friday and appear to be a sure bet for a postâ€"season appearâ€" ance. Knights blasted the lowly Kit chener collegiate Raiders 26â€"0 t« extend their record to 3â€"0. "It‘s not guaranteed, but it does appear that we‘ll make it now," said Serviss. "A win Friday (against Waterlooâ€" Oxford Crusaders) would be a guaranâ€" tee. It will also be a good opportunity for us to be tested and find out how we stack up against a big, physical team." The Crusaders took advantage of a number of turnovers Friday on their way to a 28â€"7 win over Waterloo collegiate Vikings (1â€"2). The Vikes have now dropped two straight after opening the season with a win. Things will not get any easier Friday as they host the undefeated St. Jerome‘s Lions. "Our biggest problem now is reâ€" learning how to win," said WCI head coach Gord Hunter. «+ l 2h Vikes struggle Grid Knights are rolling Since our big sale in July we haven‘t seen you, we‘ve missed . you.
