Addiction treatment, prevention programs receive provincial boost The Ministry of Health has ap proved a new drug and alcohol treatâ€" ment and counselling program for young people in Waterloo Region and an alcohol awareness program at Conestoga College. The ministry will provide $250,000 in annual operating funds and a oneâ€" time capital grant of $70,201 to St. Mary‘s General Hospital Kiwhener to set up outpatient alcohol and drug treatment services. Five fulltime staff will provide counselling services to young clients with substance abuse problems, and their families.
