As part of the celebration of the Waterloo Potter's 20th anniver- sary, Harbinger Gallery is featur- ing recent stoneware and porce- lain by Heather Daymond. Typical of Daymond’s work, the thrown forms are altered to cap ture the soft, responsive nature of wet clay. The movement of clay gives the work an energy and spontaneity. After the success of last year's 15th anniversary show, the directors have worked even harder this year to prepare a show that will start Bluevale's next 15 years off with a bang. For example, some new publicity ideas were tried. A contest was held for an original Moods poster design. The prize, two tickets to opening night, was awarded to Phillip Irish whose design can be seen on the mural in the student's lounge. Jennifer Germdge Chronicle Special Bluevale collegiate hopes to once again live up to its high standards in music with this year's production of Many Moods of Music. This year's Moods will feature musical styles ranging from the rock of John Cougar Melancamp and INXS to the soft ballads of Elton John and Billy Joel. Lighting and special effects have always played a role in Moods, and this year is no exception. Under the direction of Quinn Ford and Craig Parrish, the technical crew have outdone themselves. This year the crew has invested in a smoke machine and increased Bluevale's lighting capability with a more advanced system of lighting. Moods includes all grades and all ages-even the teachers will be singing. And for the rust time in Many Moods of Music's history, the show's finale was written by Moods performers. Veteran perfor- mers Yale Belanger. Gerry Schatz and K.C. Martin colaborated their musical talents to produce the song “It All Comes Together in the End." This song is good example of the time and effort put into the production. Many Moods of Music will run tonight through Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students with fee cards, and $3 for children and seniors. For tickets call 885-4620. As far as the programming of the show is concerned, "the musicians play what they want to play, within reason, instead of being placed in 'roles'," explained Martin.
