Reimer says that Ontario alone has a larger trade business with America than all of Japan. He notes that 2.5 million jobs in Canada are due to trading with the States. A whopping 90 per cent of Canadian exports go directly over the border. A very interesting statistic is that 80 per cent of Canadian exports go to the U .S. tariff free. At the same time 65 per cent of American imports come into Canada tariff free. Hence according to Reimer the "Free Trade" is basically concerned with the balance of the goods that presently have to go through Customs; i.e., the 20 per cent of Canadian items and the 35 per cent of American. Reimer claims the "Free Trade®" agreement will not affect any other Canadian programs such as Education, Pensions, Health Insurance, Criminal Code, Gun Control, Ownerships, etc. He says it is not a union of economics, customs, or Parliament. However, Reimer admits there are grey areas and that is why Canada demanded the "Dispute Resolution Procedure" panel. Reg. $14.95 MONDAY NIGHT IS WING DING NIGHT 3 for 2 It was interesting to note that there have been a few items in the media recently about the benefits of walking. For instance the experts claim that "walking" as little as a mile a day can lower your blood pressure and heart rate by improving your circulation. In turn, it lengthens your life and reduces your cardiovascular risk. It seems Waterloo City Council is right in line with this thinking as they are studying a $2.5 million walkway for our citizens which will start in the downtown core and wiad its way through Waterloo Park, the campus of the University of Waterloo, and then would come to a fork in the path with one section going towards the Lakeshore area and another connecting above Upper Beechwood. Dressed in G and D ‘rehoisal‘ garb of Les Chats (CATS Montreal Tour) Tâ€"shirt, Adelaide‘s shawl scarf ‘mink prop, suspenders and black midâ€"calf tights, McCord coiled catlike on a dressing room sofa As Bomb. she can artistically express an obvious independence and inner_strength She laughs softly when she realizes common links to all her stage psyches. Josie Pye in Anne of Green Gables was a schoolroom nasty, Bomb is satirical, narcissistic to a point, but sexy A selfâ€"confessed Elvis Presley fanatic and blues lover, her role in the bluesmasters The Fabulous From watching Sunday afternoon sneak premews, Guys and Dolls is a sure bet for another G & S hit. Head Guy is, of course, multiâ€"talented actor/director Alex Mustakas, with capable choreographer Vera Stephenson (Brighton Beach Memoirs, Pirates of Penzance). Head Doll is Marianne McCord as Miss Adelaide. But McCord is better known to crossâ€"Canada soldâ€" outâ€"houses as sensuous funâ€"loving feline Bombaluriâ€" na in Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s CATS. McCord will recreate the coveted role of Bomb (her pet name for the CATS Bombalurina character) for the Centre In The Square‘s soldâ€"out threeâ€"week run this June. But Guys and Dolls gives McCord a chance to learn, grow and expand in more stage life lives. Again, it‘s the Mustakas touch. McCord_ and Mustakas met at Charlottetown and danced the lindy hop in Alan Lund‘s popular period song and dance revue Swing. The two kept in touch, When Mustakas asked McCord to play sizzling chorusâ€"girl blonde Miss Adelaide, after a wellâ€"rested CATS nap, McCord began to ‘rehoise.‘ McCord began in the ‘business‘ at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Through the encourage ment of her musicallyâ€"inclined mother, mixed with ironâ€"willed determination, McCord pirouetted her way into jazz, modern dance and voice study at Le Royal Conservatory of Music When the CATS casting call came, Marianne with her scintillating greenâ€"almond evyes, graceful, proud stride and sensual essence was a shoeâ€"in for Bombalurina Marianne McCord wanted much more. It started when she watched the dancers on the old Carol Burnett Show. She sensed the frolic. "Fine, you‘re a dancer. Okay. You can dance what? What else can you do?" she recalls.
