Chamber Society presents Allegri String Quartet The Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo Chamâ€" ber Music Society will present Britain‘s Allegri Quartet featurâ€" ing violinists‘ Peter Carter and David Roth, violist Keith Lovell and cellist Bruno Schrecker Sunâ€" day, March 7 at 8 p.m. in the KWCMS Music Room. The quartet has performed regâ€" ularly in the world‘s capitals to public and critical acclaim since This consistancy led to the Quartet‘s recent recordings of both the Schubert Quartet in D minor and the Quintet in C major for two cellos being selected as first choice by the B.B.C. critics in their program ‘Building a Liâ€" Since 1985 the Quartet has appeared at several international festivals, as well as in, broadcast performance of Schonberg‘s Quarâ€" tets and Christopher Nupen‘s television film on Schonberg and Wittgenstein. When not touring, the Quartet is associated under the auspices of the Radcliffe Trust with the universities of Oxford, Leeds, Hull, Southhampton, Bristo!l and Nottingham, and Dartington Colâ€" lege of Arts, which it visits reguâ€" larly to give concerts and masterclasses. The Society will present The Cleveland Duo featuring violinist Stephen Warner and violinist and pianist Carolyn Warner from the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, Wednesday, March 30 at 8 p.m. in the KWCMS Music Room. Both members of the Cleveland Orchestra since 1979, the Duo has performed in major centres throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe in recitals, residencies, and as guest soloists with orcheâ€" stras. Dr. Delton Glebe, a faculty member at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary and its former dean, will be working with TV Ontario to produce a series of oneâ€"hour programs dealing with bereaveâ€" ment. Glebe has been teaching a course on coping with grief at the seminary for almost 20 years. Initial planning calls for each program to involve a halfâ€"hour dramatization, followed by a panel discussion. Glebe is one of five Ontario specialists who will provide advice for the shows, and share in writing some of them. He also may take part in some of the broadcast segments.
