The primary task of each L.A.CA.C. is to recommend properties of historical and architectural pignirscance for heritage designation by the local municipal council. To date, 140 properties have received such recognition: 86 in Cambridge; 38 in Kitchener; 20 in Waterloo; 4 in Wellesley Township; 5 in Wilmot Township and 7 in North Dumfries.
