The service will include a celebration of communion. com- missioning of the elders, a cove- nant service for all those plan- ning to participate in the new congregation, and special recog- nition of those people becoming charter members and associate members. As well, there will be special music and children's activities. Guest speaker for the service will be Herbert Schultz, conference minister for the Men, nonite Conference of Ontario. There will be a potluck lunch and fellowship time following the service. The new congregation, with an avenge of about 85 regular participants, began meeting in the Lutherwood Chapel last Oc- tober. and continues meeting there Sundays at 9: 45 a.m. Luth- erwood is located on Benjamin Road in North Waterloo. As part of its 150th anniversary celebrations. St. J ohn's Lutheran Church, 22 Willow St., will have as guest preacher Rev. Dr. Paul Brouse for its Oct. 4 service. Rev. Brouse, currently pastor of St. John, New York City, served as assistant pastor here from 1955-56. He went on to be pastor at StrPeter's in Heidelberg and St. Paul's in Erbsville before going to New York in 1960. The titles of Rev. Brouse's three sermons will be The Great- est Event of Church History, The Greatest Sin of the Church and The Greatest Event in History.
