In fact it couldn't have come any closer. Heading into the final game of the four-team round robin tournament, Knights needed a 12-point win over Stratford Northwestern to claim top spot. But things didn't quite work out as BCI tells two points short of its goal, defeating the eventual tournament winner 46-36. BCI began the tourney Friday with a convincing was over Grand River collegiate. But a disap- pointing 45-35 setback to lngersoll collegiate set up the showdown with Stratford, which had earlier beaten Ingersoll, thus creating a three-way logjam for first. BCI comes oh, so close in senior cage tourney BCI, Ingersoll and Stratford all finished with 2-1 marks. Grand River, last year's area champions, went 0-3. Michelle Marshall had Biuevaie's hot-hand throughout the tournament, scoring 36 points over the three games. Shannon Archer had 21 while Dina Greenfield and Jennifer Kuntz chipped in with 19 apiece. "I'm Just hoping these games will give us some sort of an edge heading into the regular season," said Demaree, a former player at both the University of Waterloo and the University of West- "It's going to be a tough league." On the junior side, Bluevale dropped all three games in the tournament, 17-14 to Grand River, 47-17 to Ingersoll and 28-20 to Stratford Northwes- tern.
