While Windham Hill offers Philippe Suisse, Mitchell Forman, Colin Chin and their songs of serenity - "Peace Of Mind," "Land Of The Morning Calm," "The Lure Of Silence" - {AD gives us The Cocteau Twins Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil and some real uplifting tunes - "Crushed," "Acid, Bitter and Sad," and "Cut The Tree." With each label, listening environment is critical to achieve optimum satisfaction. The Windham Hill sampler can best be appreciat- ed in a luxury condo with plenty of sterile European decor.
