The race start, transition and finish will take place at Conestoga Mall. The event starts at 8: 30. The footrace begins on Davenport\ Road near the maill and continues south to Lexington Rd. and then to Woolwich St. and right to the turnaround point at the Kiwanis Park entrance. The bike route goes through the towns of Heidelberg, St. Clements and Crosshill. Race kits can be picked up in the registration area the day of the race from 6:45â€"8: 15 a.m. A preâ€"race meeting will be held at 8: 10. The second annual Brick McPhail‘s biathlon will be held Sunday, May 31 with a 10 kilometre run followed by a 43K bicycle event, Competitors are advised to train in warm weather two to three weeks before the event and they should avoid alcohol within two days of the race. Drafting will not be allowed. Cyclists must keep a distance of two lengths and this distance can be closed only to pass another rider. Riding side by side in a cross wind will be considered drafting. In addition, there will be no pacing by bicycle or a nonâ€"competing runner. The race has been organised by the Twin City Athletics Club, 32 Patricia Ave., Kitchener, N2M 1J3. Entries must be accompanied by a $25 cheque or money order. The race is limited to. 400 competitors and entries have been received from as far away as New York State and Quebec. Entry forms can be picked up at the Brick Brewery or McPhail‘s Cycle and Sports.
