Many people believe the YWCA is simply a place for physical fitness or a women‘s residence. That was once the case, but today the Kitchener YMCA serves as a 55â€"bed regional emergency hostel for girls and women who are homeless and in serious difficulty. Clients range from teenage girls who have left home because of family vi;)lence, to elderly women, discharged from hospital and living on an allowance.
