The hourâ€"long classes will be offered four times a day (noon, 6:30 p.m, 7: 30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) and will include a 15â€"minute warm up. Classes begin next month. Seegmiller said membership sales have exceeded their expectations, conâ€" firming the partners‘ feeling that there is a market for another martial arts school in Kâ€"W. He added that aithough the sport is very popular with the kids, at least 50 per cent of memberships sold have been to adults. The increased emphasis on physical fitness, coupled with the popularity of such films as The Karate Kid, has sparked great interest in the martial arts, Kwon said. "This is great for physical fitnessâ€"there‘s a lot of stretchâ€" ing, so it improves flexibility. It‘s also a very good cardiovascular exercise." he explained. He offers a fullâ€"contact program for younger students and those who wish to compete in tournaments, and easier, less physically demanding sessions.
