Marshall St., entry rear window, unknown Chronicle Staff Waterioo council has instituted a system of Site Plan Awards to recognize excellence in the area of site design and excellence. The new awards are also designed to encourage a continued high quality development in the future. The competition will be open to projects which received site plan approval and were "substantially‘‘ completed in the preceding year. Winners could include new projects, additions or renovationâ€" rehabilitation projects. Judges will be members of the site plan review committee, the agreement officer and the alderman responsibly for planning and development services. A call for nominations will be placed in a local newspaper . Prize winners will receive a photograph of their development as well as a letter of recognition. The presentation will be made at a council meeting in late June or early July. . _ _ Final approval of the contest will depend on budget deliberation. The project is expected to cost $1,100 annually, with the bulk of the money being used for newspaper advertising and the framing of picâ€" tures. A city planning report says Waterioo has considered 162 site plans for approval in 1985 and 1986.
