For not only has this brainchild of Steven Gottlieb ensured him of an early retirement, it also has provided fans of ‘50s and ‘60s TV shows with a vinyl legacy of those years. While listening to theme songs from extinct TV shows is vicarious entertainment at best, it is a welcome alternative to the pitiful state of television today. Television‘s Greatest Hits, Vol. II is the followâ€"up to last year‘s successful Vol. I, 65 more themes from the ‘50s and ‘60s. Some of these shows were popular nationwide and a few have since become cult favourites; others will be remembered only by those true fans of the medium.
