EVENINGS Why the vigil? Building trails costs money â€" lots of money, as much as $100 per km per year. To pay for trail building and trail grooming clubs sell "trail stickers‘"‘ to their members. The cost is $25 per machine. This sticker gives a snowâ€" mobiler the privilege to ride all Ontario Federation of Snowmoâ€" bile Clubs trails. These trails span the province from east to west and north to south to almost any vacation spot in Ontario. The more adventurous snowmobiler *‘Freeloaders"‘ on local reguâ€" lated snowmobile trails will not be tolerated this winter, accordâ€" ing to Henry Bloos, public relaâ€" tions director of the Golden Triangle Snowmobile Associaâ€" tion. Members of the Association‘s 22 clubs will be required to buy a $25 sticker before using any of the 700â€"kilometres scenic and wellâ€"marked trails in the area. Nonâ€"members must pay $40 per sticker. Club wardens will patrol the trails and anyone without a sticker will be asked to leave or face prosecution. Some clubs will go to the extent of inviting regional or provincial police on their trails to help ensure that only properly licensed and perâ€" mitâ€"bearing snowmobilers enjoy the winter sport. It will feature public snowmobile rides, rodeos, food, dance and a groomer show â€" fun for the whole family.
