"We played very well but we couidn't put the ball in the net." Midfielder Lyndon Hooper sat- fered a bone spur in his heel and will be out indefinitely, but if all goes well Hawks could have more than their share of quality midfieiders in their lineup by the end of the season. Hooper is expected back this season and Hawks are appealing to the Ontario Universities Ath- letic Association to allow Barry McLean to play another season. McLean has used up five years of eligibility with two years at Southern Illinois followed by three years at WLU. But one of those years went down the drain when he suffered a ruptured kidney in the 1984 season opener and missed the rest of the season along with a significant portion of the academic year.
