They have less returnees than in other years, but a balanced attack combined with tough de- fensive stances contributed to their success in their season opener with Trojans. "We had some good breaka- way plays," said Vikes' coach John McIntyre. "One guy (Ray Duhame) injured his leg two days ago and I was surprised to see him run considering his sore leg." Running back Mark Reichert added another major and Rakesh Sharma gave Vikings a defensive touchdown on an interception. Mark Hopkins didn't score but he made two critical catches. Vikings' quarterback Mike Prescott is a third year junior who should give the offence some variety. "We'il use Prescott’s throwing arm and we have some good receivers," said McIntyre. "And since we have good size on the offensive line we'll try to es- tablish the ground game." Offensive linemen include Andy Mitchell and Chris Hergott, who are also on the defensive team, and Tarrant Waye. On defence, Vikings are count- ing on Todd Snelgrove and they should also get some good work from two newcomers, tackle Sam Leonard and corner line- backer Kevin Bolduc.
