May 17 the orchestra travelled to Boston, Mass., where they played in the New England Music Festival, bringing back a silver medal as a token of their skill. The orchestra, comprised of students from grade 9 to 13, worked toward this competition for a year â€" practising, organizing, and selling stuffed animals to help pay for the trip. Originally, they had planned to play in Montreal, where another festival for the same competition was to take place.
