On two occasions Panthers were tagged on the basepaths. Third baseman Jody Pfaff put Darryl Wilson out at third after Wilson tried to stretch a double to right field into a triple. Moore had three singles and Tony Yacobino, who has ended up at shortstop as Nick Noonan‘s replacement, cracked two doubles. _ Yacobino shone offensively, but wasn‘t overly busy at shortstop, where he saw some action last season when Noonan took to the pitcher‘s mound. "I think I may spent some time (at shortstop),""‘ said Yacobino, a former member of the Nanticoke Pirates of the Southern County Baseball Association intermediate league. "I enjoy that because that‘s where I played in the other league before coming here." _ There was just one error in the game, although a costly one for Tigers. "I think fundamentally we played a solid game tonight," said Yacobino. "I think we were fairly pleased with our performance, defensively anyway. It‘s also possible, however, that he could end up staying out west with the Calgaryâ€"based Nats and take the required courses out there. Wilson was credited with driving in two Kitchener runs. He had three hits including two doubles.
