They have performed to tremendous critical acclaim throughout the United States, Europe and Canada, including performances in New York, San Francisco, Salzburg and Geneva. Several works have been written for this highly successful combination, among them, Gerhard Samuel's Double Concerto which the Coletti/Chastain Duo recently per- formed with the Oakland Symphony. Nora Chastain, granddaughter of composer Roy Harris, performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician in North America and Europe. Since making her solo debut at the age of " with the San Francisco Symphony. she has appeared with many orchestras including the Cincinnati Philharmonia, the Santa Rosa Chamber Orchestra and the Camerata Lysy. She has played in the Chamber Music West Festival, the International Musicians Seminar in England, and the Menuhin Festival in Switzerland. Chastain has been the recipient ot many awards including the top string award at the Ima Hogg Competition, a Starling Scholarship and the Harriet Shaw Fellowship. She received her training from Dorothy DeLay at the J uilliard school and in Europe with Sandor Vegh and Alberto Lysy. Scottish violist Paul Coletti has performed as soloist throughout North and South America and extensively in Europe, including the festivals of Edinburgh Assisi, Buenos Aires and Toulon. He has given chamber music concerts with Yehudi Menuhin in Paris, London and at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. In 1983, while completing his post graduate diploma at the J uilliard School, he made his New York debut, which received outstanding reviews. He has won top awards in several international competitions including the g eunesse Musicales in Belgrade and the Tertis competition at the Isle of Man.
