Coral Andrews Chronicle Special Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra is presenting its third concert of the season Sunday, April is at tl p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. This ensemble is comprised of local experienced amateur musi- cians with concert master Janet Home and conductor Graham Coles. The Rolling Stones latest claim to fame is the Harlem Shuffle, but Fats Waller and The Arts Club Theatre's dazzling produc- tion of the Broadway Ain't Miss- behavin' was the real thing. . The 30-song concept with vocal arrangements by Jeffrey Gut- cheon and William Elliot takes place in down and dirty Harlem where the fun was to be found, as seven people recall '285 pounds of jam, jive and juice, full of the good times'; that was Fats Waller, who died at the age of 39, too much wine, women, and some of the greatest songs of all time. Ain't Misbehavin at UW's Hu.. manities Theatre was a memo- rable evening of good old- fashioned entertainment from seven skin-deep professionals, their common bond, the '20's honky-tonk of Fats Waller. Like the man himself, the production Ain't Misbehavin was brassy, brazen, and bold, full of life, sparkle and tremendous en- ergy. Ralph Cole (a former member of the Nylons) brought the house down with The Viper's Drag (1934) and The Reefer Song. Cole's comic insight was a show- stopper throughout the evening. The show was fast-paced, uproariously funny, filled with robust harmony and nice and sleasy does it antics. "r/DANCE-rs, - “A" - lil-lil. 341 IABSLAND DR. WATERLOO 886-7777.
