Whalers unbeaten in tournament Waterioo Insurance novice AA Whalers travelled last weekend to successfully compete in the opening rounds of the Streetsville Novice Tournamen}. Whalers displayed their depth as the offence shone in the first two games and the defence proved strong in the third game The first two games against Dixie saw Whalers dominate their opponents with impressive 6â€"0 and 10â€" 1 victories. The third game, probably one of the best the Whalers have played, was a close checking 42 victory over Whitby. In the third game, it was the excellent play of goalies Philip Wetherup and Jason Peplow and defencemen Trevor Garner, Ryan Scott, Chris Meyer, Jason Dupuis and Corey Mayhew that held the impressive Whitby team to only two goals. Whalers will return to Streetsville next weekend to continue in this tournament.
