He coached the Guelph Platers to a Centennial Cup championship in 1978 and was assistant coach with the Toronto Maple beats from 1977-79. In ttttts he was assistant coach with the Canadian team which took the silver medal in the World Cham- pionships in Prague. McDuffe started at uw in 1973 and graduated in 1976 with a BA. in sociology. Her university track and field career got off to a fast start as she led Athenas to their first OWlAA championship in 1973 and she got a gold medal in the 100 metre hurdles as well as the long jump. She represented Canada in the Commonwealth Games in 1974 and on two occasions she com- peted in the World Student Games. She also competed in the Pan American Games in Mexico in 1975. UW also honored three coaches for having been named coach of the year in their respective leagues. They are basketball coach Sally Kemp, volleyball coach Rob Atkinson and and rugby coach Mark gamer. The rugby team also had many players recogised as OUAA all- stars. They are Tony Mea, Doug Paul, Mac Clayton, Paul Toon, are holding tryouts and they invite all interested players, es- pecially Waterloo residents and university students to attend.
