A University of Waterloo reâ€" search team which hopes to confirm that its elementary school smoking prevention proâ€" gram deters young people from smoking in high school is among 185 recipients of health research grants from the Ontario Ministry of Health. The grants, totalling more than $7.4 million in the 1985â€"86 fiscal year, were announced by Health Minister Murray Elston. They fund new or continuing health care research projects and the development of health research personnel across the province.
