Waterâ€" loo collegiate Vikings had a bye that same eveâ€" ning. Bluevale basketball Knights have come to play in the New Year and the score of their first Waterloo County high school game in 1986 speaks for itself. Knights had beaten Eastwood Rebels 43â€"42 in the semiâ€"finals after winning 53â€"46 over Windsor Walkersville in their opener. A previous meeting between Knights and Renâ€" egades had ended with Knights winning by a considerably smaller margin of victory but they showed no mercy this time. Knights coach John McCarthy noted that Renâ€" egades used everybody in their lineup to give young players experience. All the same he also noted that his own players played with a great deal of intensity.
