Maggie Schnarr photo For the 70 or so participants taking part last week in the fifth annual rollerama presented by the Kâ€"W chapter of the Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities (ACLD) the evening at Super Skate Seven was a mixture of fun and relaxation. Chronicle Staff Some whizzed around the rink like pros. Others struggled to keep their balance, occasionally tripping over their unsure feet but nonetheless giving it a valiant effort. The rollerama was held in conjunction with the Waterilooâ€"Conesâ€" toga Rotary as a fundâ€"raising drive to raise money for worthwhile ACLD projects. This year the funds will be used for Camp Pioneera, Close to 100 pledges were received, and while the figures are still being tallied, Urte Look, fundâ€"raising chairperson and second viceâ€"president said $8,200 in donations has been received. That‘s an increase of over $1,500 from last year‘s efforts. Adults and children alike donned skates during the twoâ€"hour rollerama and the local chapter of the Beavers also donated their time and skating power for this cause.
