Three films in German with English subtitles will be shown at Wilfrid Laurier University, beginning Oct. 15, as the university marks Oktoberfest with its third annual Oktoberfilmfest. All three films explore aspects of feminism and are directed by women. They have been wellâ€"received in Germany and elsewhere and two have won major awards, including "best film" at three film festivals. The films are Malou, Peppermint Peace, Marianne and Juâ€" iane. Showings each night, Oct. 15 through 17, are at 6: 30 p.m. and are offered without charge. The first showing will be in Room P1017 of the Frank C. Peters Building and the final two showings will be in Room 1E1 of the Arts and Science Building. Malou has been termed a quest for personal and national identity. Peppermint Peace explores the relationship between a young German girl and an American GI, and the third draws its inspiration from one of three urban guerrilas who died in a German prison in 1977.
