Better a yearâ€"andâ€"aâ€"half late than never. The Gods Must Be Crazy, now at the Waterloo Theatre, is one of the funniest films in years. Filmed in Botswana by writer/director/producâ€" er Jamie Uys, this low budget boxâ€"office smash begins in the Kalahart Desert, where a native bushman named Xi (played by N‘xau) finds a Cocaâ€"Cola bottle dropped from the skies by a careless airplane pilot. The Gods Must Be Crazy a bizarre, mustâ€"see item Lori Haskell Xi learns the hard way that this ‘"evil thing" revolutionizes the simple lifestyles of his tribe. Saddened by this discovery, Xi decides to take this bottle to the ends of the earth and, in so doing, becomes part of an Africanâ€"revolutionary e Activity cards areselling well. Proceeds are used for student activities during the year and all students are strongly encouraged to buy one â€" $5 for a student card only and for $10 you get a student activity card and a yearbook as well.
