This year marks the 90th Anniverâ€" sary of the Society and the show was especially arranged to commemoâ€" rate the Year of the Youth. ‘"We had a special children‘s competition,"‘ said Marshall Soehner, a WHS member. ‘"We like to promote it among children beâ€" cause they are our future horticulâ€" turalists. Each year we provide them with seeds for flowers and vegetables and encourage them to bring in what they grow." After almost a century, WHS is becoming concerned about its memâ€" bership. ‘"You might say we‘re becoming a senior citizens‘ society and we want to get away from that reputation," Soehner said.
